Great Reads

by Jenni in Lifestyle

Blogs to read
Blogs to read

In preparation for our Greece trip happening shortly, I have been looking into many good reads and some very addicting blogs. In case you get bored this week or are heading off on a trip of your own and need some light reading, here are some things I am currently loving. All are blogs, of course, and none have been on P+K before. Yes, we are all exploring new things and finding new adventures! Yay for the internet, where you can travel so far without ever leaving you couch.

Life Behind the Tweet. I fell out of love with Twitter a few years back, but this post just might rekindle that honeymoon feeling we had once.

Bring Your Hangover to Work Day. Oh the joys of working from home!

Also from The Daily Tay, things for bloggers. And, if you liked that one, you are sure to like this one too.

This blog was a recent find and I am completely obsessed. You will be too!

Are you devoted to your ideal life?

Because P+K is first and foremost a fitness blog.

Let's DIY this B!

One GREAT overnight oats recipe.

I hope your weekend is filled with adventure, fun, and a bit of cuddling up in a slouchy sweater. TGIF!

Running Articles That are Actually Interesting

by Jenni in Fitness

Running articles that are actually interesting
Running articles that are actually interesting

Let's not beat around the bush, most articles about running are pretty boring with charts and figures and other things that lull us to sleep whilst reading. Maybe, you have even used a few as sleep preps in the past. Most of these uber boring articles have uber important running info in them, getting to it before the eye lids get heavy can be a bit of an issue though.

Thankfully, a few of those writers on running have caught on and given us helpful content in a manner that keeps us interested (and awake) the whole way through. These articles are just a few that I recently found that may surprise you in information and interest!

Do you have dumb-butt syndrome?

Ways to understand how you run.

Hips may be over feet in more than one way.

Truth or fad?

Something that will bring joy to every short distance runner.

A marathon breakdown that will leave you inspired.

Housekeeping

by Jenni in Lifestyle

Sometimes, there are little updates that I feel need to be made but are too random to put at the bottom of a post itself. Today, I decided to make an entire blog post about all those little details that should be told, but the timing just seems all wrong.

There are some exciting things and exciting projects coming up for P+K! Of course, one of the big ones is that we will be leaving for the summer in just over a month! Like last year, I plan to blog my usual days and only take Saturday's as a rest day. This may be a bit more difficult this year since it is our last year at the Michigan location of Circle A. You are awesome though, so please forgive me if I miss a Sunday post or have fewer workout pics than usual... And that brings me to the elephant that has been following me from room to room forever.

So, I know that I have majorly dropped the ball on the whole Sunday posts bit. It is quite funny considering that they are my favorite posts and I have been getting a really positive response on them. Promise, you will start seeing more regular weekend posts and I will stop being lazy or busy or whatever I have been :) I have also really been loving the short, fun article posts. It feels a little silly sometimes since they are tiny and not on health or fitness, but let me know if you want me to keep them or just get back to the fitness stuff.

We will also be having a few guest posts coming up that I am super excited about and a few other surprises that are too new to discuss yet. But, I promise you will love them!

There we go. Whhooo, I feel like I have gotten a lot off my chest now. Hopefully that helps clear the P+K air. And for those who prefer lists over long paragraphs with filler, here is the long and short of it

Sum Up

  • We are leaving for Michigan soon, but fear not, blogs will continue coming as usual.
  • I will start-up those Sunday posts again and keep them regular.
  • Guest posts and surprises to come!!!!
  • Do you like the little product or article posts? If so, let me know and I will keep em'.
  • You are awesome. That one was added in, but sometimes we just have to hear how awesome others know we are. Have a wonderful day :)

Favorite Reads of the Week

by Jenni in Lifestyle

Articles of the Week
Articles of the Week

{via}

Goodness, there have been some good articles and posts written this week! It seems that one of the good parts about still (still!?!!) being under the weather is that I have been able to read a bunch of interesting things or watch some uselessly good TV. On that note, did you know that PLL has started up again? Well, it has! But, I promise, there has been more swimming in this head than what's going on with Ezra- although I do seriously wonder that as well...

A great and very personal article I read this week was over at Design Love Fest. Bri talked very candidly about guilt, anxiety, and insecurities. I also completely loved the quote!

Next up was Emily Henderson's Lulu and Georgia Furniture Wish List. I did not even know that this shop existed and am so grateful to know about it. They have gorgeous things and are not as expensive as most the shops recommended by designers. Swoon.

I must be having an EH week because this DIY copper and leather table is another article of her's that I cannot get enough of. But, I am considering elongating it to make a bench for the end of our bed.

This Shape article talks a bit about added and natural sugars. It's pretty interesting and I am still a bit on the fence about it.

This Shape article about 20 great wines under $20 has become a favorite of mine. If you like wine and budgets, it just might be yours as well!

This one from Emily Henderson is one that almost every Mom out there will love.
