Workouts for the Weekend

Happy Friday! I hope you have something wonderful planned for this weekend. We will be spending time with family and celebrating Easter Saturday evening with a big fish cook. The hubs and I are also in a competition with some friends for the first to run 75-miles in thirty days or less. This means that we have been running A LOT more than usual and will be running this weekend as well.

Since Sunday is Easter, I figured we could talk about what workouts I have done this week and what we are planning to do over the holiday weekend. Will you be working out this weekend? My goal is to run on Sunday and do a nice hip opening flow on Saturday. Hips are one of my most sore areas when running more than normal, so prepare for a nice hip opening sequence on the blog pretty soon!

Here is what I already did this week!

Sunday: Rest day after Saturday's events. Yea, that was a good day!

Monday: Run 4.5-miles

Tuesday: Hot Power Yoga Flow

Wednesday: Run 3.5-miles

Thursday: Nice hip opening yoga flow

Friday: Run 3.5-miles

This Week In Workouts: The Christmas Rush

by Jenni in Fitness

Man, this week was busy. I managed to fit in five workouts, and that is something I am quite proud of. In this past week we have had a disposal break, our AC break (needed for a Florida Christmas), a toilet break, the cat's litter box break, and our AC break again. We also had three holiday parties, one of which was at our home. We have made it out and now have AC and a fixed toilet... everything else will be done before Christmas... Hopefully.

Since this week went a little hay wire, I was not able to make it to a hot yoga class (tear), but was able to get some new yoga flows in and continue work on the elusive full compass pose.

Sunday: Simple, 20-minute yoga flow.

Monday: 3.5 mile jog followed by ten Sun Salutation Push-ups... Will have to make a post about those sometime soon!

Tuesday: This yoga flow by Tara Stiles for weight loss and balance followed by compass poses and headstands. I loved this flow and found that it did really help prepare me to push farther for compass and headstands!

Wednesday: Rest day, party night!

Thursday: 2-mile warm-up jog followed by this Full-Body Superset Workout by Pumps and Iron. I am not a massive fan of supersets, but as far as they go, this one was pretty great! There was definitely some soreness in the arms and legs on Friday!

Friday: Ali K's Hot Yoga Warm-Up. I figured this would have to be my consolation for not taking a hot yoga class this week. I was right. This sequence had me dripping with sweat less than halfway through. It also helped calm my mind and get me ready for the super fun week ahead!

Saturday: Rest Day!
